August In Review | In Out & Around Soweto Blog

August has been a great month for the blog not only did I get to welcome new brands here but I also got to see growth. Thank you kindly for the lovely support and again greater
and bigger things are coming.

My granny celebrated her birthday on the 15th of August, gosh I love her.
The thing that I haven't been able to master very well on the blogggersphere is that
thing called Youtubing I will keep on trying though *lol*

Just thought I should do a summary for the month that was:

See you in Spring:

Review | African Extracts 3-1 Wash, Scrub & Mask

Pore-Clearing Scrub – R64.95
I have been blogging a lot lately which I love and I hope to keep the momentum going since Spring is coming in a few days time.

Today I thought that I should share with you how the African Extract 3-1 Wash, Scrub & Mask is treating me so far. I actually bought the mask at Clicks Jabulani Mall before it was sent to me
back in July beacase I wanted to try it, plus it seemed affordable.

The container is tube like which means you will be able to use all of the product as it also allows for squeezing. On your first squeeze no contents come off as it has a protective seal in it (to keep
the germs away) which is great, just rememeber to remove it *lol*

The African Extract 3-1 Wash, Scrub & Mask has a thick-white consistency, the
thickness in the consistency helps with how much of the product you can use on each application.
If you are now more in-tune on what you cleanse your face with like me, the product
contains the following ingrediatent, Bio-active Rooibos extract, baobab, soybean oil, shea butter and other plant extracts.

African Extract claims that the product eliminates excess oil, unclogs pores and events skin tones. When I first used it it tingled a bit but I guesss it was theproduct working as I hadn't used any 3-in-1's in a while. Although the product eliminates excess oil it is not drying at all to the skin (dry skin problems). If you are looking for a 3-in-1 Wash, Scrub & Mask product that is also affordable this product is for you.

Quick tip: To use as wash or scrub massage onto wet face and rinse.
To use as mask, apply to face avoiding eye area, leave to dry for three
                 and rinse.

Collection | My NailPolish Game

Just thought I should do a bit of stocktaking before the new season begins.
You know the first nail inspiration post on the blog
was with L'Oreal, gosh the staying power of that  nail polish
is directly proportional to its cost.

My nails have cracked, chipped, dented, perenadonkey (LOL), and they are still here.

I'm saying goodbye though to the way I was reviewing nailpolishes unless something
new and groundbreaking comes along then I will update you.
Nailpolishes will always be my thang so don't be alarmed new and better thangz are coming.

Hope you have a great week
xx

Review | CLARINS Everlasting Foundation SPF15

I'm welcoming the Clarins brand on the blog today as I will be reviewing their Everlasting Foundation SPF15 30ml R415. This is long overdue as this is my second bottle, the first one I got as part of the test review for Beauty South Africa back in November 2015. I always wanted to review it but I wanted to test the foundation in Winter as I have dry skin. SO if you love full coverage make-up like me this one is for you.

I usually don't spend more than R300 bucks on foundations but this foundation made me splurge big time. The quality of this foundation has got me good, I have been wearing the Clarins Foundation on weekends only because it is that good.

Here are some reason why the Clarins Everlasting Foundation is great for me.

The packaging! have a look at the above pictures, really need I say more?
It comes in a frosted glass with a "gold' top.
It comes with a pump, and which allows for great control so that not much product is wasted.
I love the packaging from box throughout, I'm simply impressed.

The coverage is full, if you are looking for a full coverage foundation this one is for you.
I don't color correct/conceal when using this foundation guys. I only hightlight and contour (should needs be). When I say full coverage don't assume ooh I will look like I have a mask, no no no this foundation is light on the skin.

The finish of the product is semi-matte which is why I wanted to wait till winter to review the foundation, so that I can test the matte finish on my skin as other foundations tend to get ashy and cakey this time of the year. Guess what the Clarins Everlasting Foundation holdups, no cakeyness or ashyness here.

You know when you wear other foundations in the morning and by mid-day you ask yourself where did that foundation go?Well this one does not do that, the foundation has great staying power Clarins claims that the foundation lasts up to 18 hours though (but I will not be testing that) the 8-9 hours are just fine with me.

This is the first high-end foundation I get to review on the blog, and I must say I'm impressed with it and it is convincing me to buy more high end foundations to test and try out. So I will say if you are looking for a high-end product with a medium/full coverage, please do grab this one.

The foundation overall has set the bar really high for me.

Pictures of what the Everlasting Foundation looks like on my skin to follow on posts to come.

Avon Flawless CC Powder SPF30 Review

A review is due on the blog and today I'm breaking down the Avon's CC Powder R159.00 which I got
at the Avon's Beauty For A Purpose Event, I got soo many great products I might even start an Avon Series,
lets see how this review goes.

Avon claims that the powder is supposed to brighten your skin while colour correcting it.
Avon also claims the CC powder is also a full coverage product and contains
vitamins A, C and E and white tea extracts.

The packaging is standard packaging for Avon's products.
You get a mirror inside, and sponge type applicator( I prefer using a powder brush for this product though).

I have never been so confused in my whole life regarding a beauty product. You know when you read reviews online some people say they use the CC Powder as a base, *confused* as how can one use a powder as base?
What about us that need layers of liquid foundation the powder will just disappear.

NO NO NO.

I finally figured out how to use it.
I actually use it as a finishing powder and when I tell you magic in a powder I mean it.
The CC Powder gives you that flawless courage that other finishing powders don't give, so I guess I will be using my CC Powder as my finishing powder.

Would I purchase the product?
Yes

Price
4/5

*Will be sharing how it looks like on my skin on posts to come.
