Thank You March

Just thought that I should share some of these beautiful words.

“Patience Is Not the Ability to Wait:
Patience is not the ability to wait. Patience is to be calm no matter what happens, constantly take action to turn it to positive growth opportunities, and have faith to believe that it will all work out in the end while you are waiting.”

Weigh-In-Wednesday | March My Month of Struggles

So the plan really with this feature was to post on the weekly and share with you guys my weightloss journey struggles e.g. food intake and everything else. So when March began I was like nope I will make this a monthly feature, mistake number one. 3rd week March my sister who stays on the other side of town calls and asks me what happened to my weightloss feature and I told her what my plan was and she said mmmh okay that mmmh okay killed me a little because  big sisters know us little sisters a bit to well. She knows I'm an emotional eater and when stressed and everything else I turn to food and in March that's what I did.

I don't think I did share with you my goal weight, it is actually 78 - 80kg am I that much of a piece of slob that I can't even motivate myself that much as into loosing 10kg... come on (talking to myself here). I knew loosing weight for me would be challenging but nope to actually lose then gain so much in a month cause I have been eating junk and not going to the gym well I have let myself down...

I hope that this is actually the last time I write about goals not being achieved here on the blog.

Till next week...

New In | Wet & Wild

In hopes of sharing and testing out new products this year on the blog I thought that I should share with you items I bought earlier this month. I finally got the Wet & Wild Megalinear I've heard great reviews and seen really good demos on it. Tried the eyeliner and I'm really impressed so it would be a de-service if I don't share with you this product cause it has me good and the price aswell of the product is also great.

While I was at the Wet & Wild section I also picked up some single glittery eyeshadows the gold one is named Brass and the pink one is called Groupie

I like the Wet & Wild range and will most definitely be picking up more items on this range soon.

Skincare | Justine A-Firm Creme Cleanser and Toning Gel

Good day, hope everyone is all well and okay.
Today I thought that I should share with you some skincare products that I have been testing out. Skincare for me was something I used to not think big off for a while till I began having blackheads and blemishes cause of the soap that I was using back then.

Ever since I began using cleansers and then later on incorporating toners and serums I see great results on my skin. A good skin care routine for  me is one that won't break your budget too much because we know how expensive some products can be, and one that won't make you feel uncomfortable doing. FYI: I would say that my skin is 80% dry skin and the rest well I really don't know cause I would breakout and have blackheads on some areas.
My skincare routine is mostly basic I cleanse, tone and moisturise on the daily, and lately I'm into scrubbing, seruming and musking (lol I don't thing the words seruming and musking exists). Do whatever you feel comfortable if spending R700 bucks on a serum works for you its okay by all means do as skincare routine are different for everyone.

Today I'm sharing the *Justine A-firm Cleaning and Toning Gel, been using them for two weeks now and I must say that these products are dry skin friendly. The creme cleanser is just that creamy and does not leave your skin feeling dry and ashy but it leaves my skin feeling moisturised, I really don't know how did they manage to do that. Same with the toning gel, after use it also does not leave my skin feeling ashy afterwards.

I have been using the products for the past two weeks now and I thought that I should share
the update with you.

The Justine A-firm range is vast so you can check it out on the link below

When God Created Mothers Poem

When God Created Mothers"

When the Good Lord was creating mothers, He was into His sixth day of "overtime" when the angel appeared and said. "You're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one."

And God said, "Have you read the specs on this order?" She has to be completely washable, but not plastic. Have 180 moveable parts...all replaceable. Run on black coffee and leftovers. Have a lap that disappears when she stands up. A kiss that can cure anything from a broken leg to a disappointed love affair. And six pairs of hands."

The angel shook her head slowly and said. "Six pairs of hands.... no way."

It's not the hands that are causing me problems," God remarked, "it's the three pairs of eyes that mothers have to have."

That's on the standard model?" asked the angel. God nodded.

One pair that sees through closed doors when she asks, 'What are you kids doing in there?' when she already knows. Another here in the back of her head that sees what she shouldn't but what she has to know, and of course the ones here in front that can look at a child when he goofs up and say. 'I understand and I love you' without so much as uttering a word."

God," said the angel touching his sleeve gently, "Get some rest tomorrow...."

I can't," said God, "I'm so close to creating something so close to myself. Already I have one who heals herself when she is sick...can feed a family of six on one pound of hamburger...and can get a nine year old to stand under a shower."

The angel circled the model of a mother very slowly. "It's too soft," she sighed.

But tough!" said God excitedly. "You can imagine what this mother can do or endure."

Can it think?"

Not only can it think, but it can reason and compromise," said the Creator.

Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek.

There's a leak," she pronounced. "I told You that You were trying to put too much into this model."

It's not a leak," said the Lord, "It's a tear."

What's it for?"

It's for joy, sadness, disappointment, pain, loneliness, and pride."

You are a genius, " said the angel.

Somberly, God said, "I didn't put it there.”

Human Rights Day 2017

South Africa how I love this country, today we celebrate Human Rights Day.

Being a Sowetan (Sowetan a person born – living in Soweto),  I’m just a bit more sentimental about these type of things.

Let’s go back a bit…

Today we call the Public Holiday as Human Rights Day, however it used to be called Sharpville Massacre.. and a massacre it was.
On the 21st of March 1968 a crowd of 5 000 to 10 000 peacefully marched to surrender themselves to their local Sharpville police station offering themselves up for arrest for not carrying their passbooks. I won't go too deep here as just typing is just making me furious.

Through the locomotion people got killed the total toll was 69 people were killed, including 8 women and 10 children, and 180 injured, including 31 women and 19 children. Many were shot in the back as they turned to flee, causing some to be paralyzed.

Since then apartheid has since been burned however the wounds of the past will forever be engraved with our hearts. Apartheid was such a bad time for South Africa and some may have forgiven however we will never forget.

Fast forward to today Human Rights, Do you know your rights, like really know them???

Human rights are rights that everyone should have simply because they are human.
These are some rights taken from the South African governmental site, rights include:
  • Equality – everyone is equal before the law and has the right to equal protection and benefit of the law.
  • Human dignity – everyone has inherent dignity and have their dignity respected and protected.
  • Freedom of movement and residence – everyone has a right to freedom of movement and to reside anywhere in the country.
  • Language and culture – everyone has the right to use the language and to participate in the cultural life of their choice.
  • Life - everyone has the right to life.
I won’t make this post to be extra long, however I do want to say that doing posts like these really make me happy.

NEW IN | Essence Beauty Blogger Secrets

Hey guys, been posting very late this week, I do apologies but atleast I'm posting right? (",)!!!

Essence Beauty Blogger Secrets launched mid-month January
and I have been eyeing the palettes for a while now,
You know me before buying a products I need to think thoroughly
if it will fit into my collection or not.

What I like about this collection is that Essence collaborated with bloggers, I can't wait to see a blogger collaboration sometime soon in SA,
and when I say blogger collaboration I mean I would like to see someone releasing a lipstick, highlighter or something range with a brand and I feel like now it is
the time for a brand to take a chance.

Enough with my rambling....
Essence Beauty Blogger Secrets /// R104.95 / *$8.40
Essence collaborated with 4 beauty bloggers to create each palette and they are as follows:

1. *Touch up to go! one-for-allpalette + nail polish by Diana zur Löwen

2. Vintage rose eye palette + nail polish by Palmira

3. *Shape & shadows eye contouring palette + nail polish by Mary

4. Shape & shadows eye contouring palette + nail polish by Mary

I currently have number 1 and 3, and I went out today to get 2 and 4, I just feel like these palettes deserve a series on the blog where I create a looks for each,
I will see how it goes...

Have you tried any of the Essence Beauty Blogger Secrets yet?
and whats your take?

NEW IN | Revlon Love Her Madly

I really love the "new in feature" here on the blog, because I gives me an opportunity
to share what new products I'm currently testing here on the blog.

The New In feature mostly includes products that I buy myself but
every now and then I would get stuff on my PO Box
and I feel like I also need to share those so that we can test them together.

I got the *Revlon Love Her Madly - Breathless Perfume on my PO Box and
items that are mostly pink just grab my attention, just look at that #flatlay

The Revlon Love Her Madly perfume range has been my older sisters favorite for  while and it just makes me weird having to test it out.
Maybe I should just let her test it out for us....

First Impressions:
Loving the bottle and the packaging, it smells absolutely divine.

Manicure Monday - Pink & Glitter

Manicure Monday - Pink & Glitter
Good day, ooh wow this post is so late but I will let it go up anyways.

Last week I decided to do my nails, (like a girl with all the acrylic stuff and all).

I did them in street which follows mine (Soweto), when I got there it was empty cause really who does their nails on a Wednesday afternoon. When I got there the lady was soo nice and I told her that I'm doing my nails professionally for the first time she was just shocked.

The process was really quick and it was not painful at all (people told me that it is painful). The first few days were tough, I couldn't use my phone, type, scratch my hair properly it was really tough.
As I'm writing/typing this (Tuesday), which would make it a week later I have gotten used to them.

I love that they are pretty and I don't have to worry about applying nailpolish for a while, whoever they are a bit of a pain.

Will I do them again, maybe I'm just not sure.

Please give me suggestions on managing with longer/acrylic nails?

Your girl is dying here!!!

Around Soweto | Soweto Wine Festival 2017

Friday we made it... last weekend I couldn't attend the Soweto Wine Festival cause (9-5 yeap I work on weekends also), I really wanted to attend the event for my Around Soweto feature, but you know what I will just do this post cause I really wanted to go and (ngiyafoster).

Soweto had it's 12th Annual Wine Festival, what!!! this has been going on for more than 11 years... I'm really impressed.

Let me give you a bit of history that I got from their official site:

As neighbours, Lynn Woodward and Mnikelo Mangciphu with two friends, sipped wine with their inyama, they dreamed about bringing wine to Mnikelo's home town of Soweto. Only a year later these neighbours came together once again but this time as founding partners of The Soweto Wine Festival. Cape Wine master Marilyn Cooper joined the team and they were off and running.

Wine is one of the most appreciated and iconic South African products. Loved and laboured over, grown from our very own soil, it seems only natural that quality South African wines should be (responsibly) enjoyed by all.

That's why, 12 years ago, the Soweto Wine Festival kicked off with the vision of sharing this proudly South African product with the Sowetan audience. Today the festival has grown in scale and scope and attracts thousands of local visitors and internationals alike to the festival and surrounding streets of Soweto for a weekend and #72HOURS of exploration and celebration of proudly South African wine, music, and food culture.

So there you have it, next year I will make sure I cover this event.
I hope that you will be there with me also.

xx

NEW IN | Avéne Thermal Spring Water

Good day we are halfway through the week, I hope all is going well.

This year on the blog I plan on exposing us to new things and every now and then I will drop a weekly feature and bring you products that are new on my PO Box.

This week I bring you the newly launching AvĂ©ne Eau Thermale (Thermal Spring Water).
Spring water neh!!!
I went through the bottle to check what the ingredients are and it just said Avene Thermal Spring Water and Nitrogen (as a pressuriser).

AvĂ©ne claims that the Thermal Spring Water can be used as follows:
After- removing make-up (To envelop the skin in a soothing mist).
After sport
While travelling
After hair removal
Nappy Rash (To gently soothe baby's fragile skin)

My First Impressions:
For me it is just a spray that emits water,
I will be using it on my make-up soon and will be sharing a review as soon as possible
***EDIT see how the spray performs on my YouTube video linked below***.
On the Dischem site the spray is under the cleanser/toner category...

Directions for use:
Spray a fine mist on your skin.
Wait for a few minutes, then gently pat  dry.
mmmh interesting, I can't wait to use it.

New In | Revlon Insta-Blush and Powder Blush

Revlon Insta-Blush and Powder Blush
Hey guys, you know that I'm a Revlon died hard chick right!!! and when Revlon sent me their newly launching *Insta-Blush and Powder Blush I was just overly excited. Today I just thought that I should share with you some of the information
e.g. what to expect, when are they launching and my first impression.

Revlon Insta-Blush:
Revlon says that the Insta-Blush has a cream to powder formular that is sheer, blendable and perfect for that touch of highlight, contour or non-tour.
It comes in 4 shades at present Rose Gold Kiss (pictured and swatched), Candy Kiss, Nude Kiss (I think I will be purchasing this one soon) and Berry Kiss, ooh they all end in Kiss.

Revlon Powder Blush:
The Revlon Powder Blushes have been in the market for a while but I'm just glad that they are extending the range now. The blushes are available in 3 finishes, matte, satin and shimmer.
Revlon says that the blushes are silky and buildable, perfect for every skin tone and looks freshly applied all day.
New Matte shades are Rosy Rendezvous, and Bronze Beauty(which I will be testing out on the 9th on my latest YouTube video), Shimmer Shades are Dare to Bare and Ravishing Rose and the Satin shades are Orchid Charm.

My First Impression:
The Revlon Insta-Blush on the first swatch does have that creamy feel and can blend very easily on the skin. The shade that I'm trying out is Rose Gold Kiss and I like it cause it has that subtle shimmery finish that gives you that blush pink look which is not too much (I hope that my explanation makes sense).

When it came to the Powder Blush I tested out the Matte Bronze Beauty, because I'm a bronze beauty myself the colour payoff wasn't that great I feel like I need to purchase Rosy Rendezvous so that I can truly test out the blush, but don't despair I used the blush as a contour powder which just made my make-up to look snatch....

P.S. I will be trying out both the Revlon Insta-blush and powder blush this coming Thursday on my YouTube channel cause you know I'm filming again, and I can't wait for you to see them so that you can make a decision for yourself.

Revlon Insta-Blush : R220 / $16.90
Revlon Powder : R239 / $18.38

See you soon!!!

Review | Nivea Cleansing Cream Wash for Dry & Sensitive Skin

Nivea Cleansing Cream Wash for Dry & Sensitive Skin Review
Sorry for the late upload my 9-5 took over this weekend now that I'm done explaining myself, this week I have really great reviews for you guys and without wasting any of your time today I bring you an oldie but goodie the Nivea Cleansing Cream Wash for Dry and Sensitive Skin retail R59.95 / $4.96

The claim:
Nivea claims that the Daily Essentials Gentle Cleansing Cream Wash is enriched with natural Almond Oil & Hydra IQ: Gently cleanses and removes daily impurities, soothes and moisturises the skin to its mild formula that contains Almond Oil suitable for dry and sensitive skin.

The product:
The Nivea Daily Essentials Gentle Cleansing Cream Wash comes in a beautiful blush pink tube and the face wash itself is creamy white and contains some pink hints of what could be the Hydra IQ cause you know how big Nivea is with their IQ/Q10 ingredients.

My Experience:
I love face washes that are dedicated to dry and sensitive skin cause I know that I will be getting the best of both worlds as my face will be washed but I won't get that harsh dry feeling afterwards that some face wash products leave behind.
Because the Daily Essentials Gentle Cleansing Cream Wash is targeted for us, people with dry skin I feel like it contains a lot of Glycerin and when left on the skin for longer period of time (cause you maybe checking your phone, or answering an email) when you wash it out I feel like a lot of the glycerin is left behind but that's just me. But when used properly as in applying gently to a wet face and neck , massaging in small upward circles and then rinsing it off then yeap the face wash will leave your face washed and still feeling moisturised.

My verdict:
The Nivea Daily Essentials Gentle Cleansing Cream Wash for Dry & Sensitive skin works for me as it does not leave my skin looking ashy after using it, this one most definitely needs you to use a toner afterwards so that the glycerin in it does not clog up your pores.
