New In | Products On Trial

TRESemmé NEW Botanique Range
Happy Monday, hope everyone has been good and okay. Things on my side last week were hectic (as there we no posts on the blog and on social) but I won’t dwell on that madness I will just let it slide.
In the month of May I have been so fortunate enough to get Media Invites to great events,
and I’m forever grateful...

This post really is to share newly launched products that I recently got during the month of May, and I’m also testing them out ... so you know, reviews galore will be coming through… So without wasting any of your time the first product is the…

TRESemmé NEW Botanique Range
Love this range because it is all about celebrating natural hair… I did my big chop last year month end September and I must say learning to maintain my hair has been a struggle but thank goodness for YouTube and bloggers like ByLungi who I finally met at the Tresemme event a few weeks back and the journey is not that much of a struggle anymore.
TRESemmé claims the following about the product “A professional-quality wash and care system free of parabens, dyes, silicones and lower in sulphates to breathe new life into a hair care regime whilst celebrating “natural” in all its beauty”.

TRESemmé Botanique shampoo and conditioner are available nationwide from major retailers at a Recommended Retail Price of R79,99 each.
BLM for Natural Hair
BLM (For Natural Hair Curl Wake-Up Hydrate Spray and
the For Natural Hair Curl Hydrate Pudding)
Companies are really coming up with great hair products these days hey… and that makes me happy.
BLM Natural Hair Curl Wake-Up Hydrate Spray claims: instantly adds extra moisture & gloss to curls & coils. Non-greasy to help prevent build up. Quick way to keep your naturals hydrated & fresh. The non-greasy part is true because I have been using the spray for two weeks now and my wig cap does not come off-greasy at all.

For Natural Hair Curl Hydrate Pudding BLM claims helps to clearly define curls & oils leaving them moist & soft for longer. Non-greasy formulation that leaves little build-up.
I haven’t tested this one yet but loading…

The BLM For Natural Hair Curl Wake-Up Hydrate Spray retails for R32.00 and the BLM Natural Hair Curl Hydrate Pudding retails for R38.00
Dove DermaSpa, Dove deodorant and Dove Nutritive Solutions Hair Care
About a week back I attended the #DoveDay held at the beautiful Summer Place where Dove unveiled their new Dove DermaSpa, Dove deodorant and Dove Nutritive Solutions Hair Care products.

The goodie bag from that event will be delivered sometime this week (cause Dove always brings it with their products) however I couldn’t hold myself any longer and bought a few products from the  Derma Spa range maybe because it’s those massaging balls I gravitated towards from the Dove DermaSpa Massaging Body Roll-on.

I will do a detailed blogpost on the range once I get the items posted whoever I will repeat this the Dove DermaSpa Massaging Body Roll-on is on par….

Check out the whole range here on the Clicks site. HERE
Clere Oil Control Face Wash Gel – Clere Even Tone Complex Cream
Another great event that I got to attend earlier this month was the Clere High Tea
both the products are on trial and will give you a mini breakdown on the companies claims
Clere Oil Control Face Wash Gel "Gently cleanses the skin to help remove oil and impurities that cause spots, helps remove oil and impurities that cause spots and blemishes. It creates a rich, thick lather to gently cleanse the skin leaving it feeling instantly smooth, radiant and oil free".

Clere Even Tone Complex Cream "Fruit serum with anti oxidant. This 3-in-1, unique formulation is clinically proven to start evening the skin tone from 14 days".

So far so good, but I think that I need to just get their toner.

The Clere Oil Control Face Wash Gel retails for R39 and the
Clere Even Tone Complex Cream retails for R42

For a very shy girl like me to attend three events in a month is a huge milestone… I just need to shake of my shyness even more and start vlogging and tweeting more LOL.

Thank you kindly for the invites guys, I really do appreciate them.

Keep them coming LOL.

Trust in the Care of Nivea plus Giveaway (CLOSED)

One thing that really makes me happy is seeing communities taking care of their kids, by keeping them protected and taken care of.

If you have been following my blog for a while now you would know that I'm passionate about helping keep our kids safe from harm especially after school because there is that gap between 2pm and 6pm where kids are vulnerable to all kinds of harm. In my community (Senaoane - Soweto) we have Thembelani Enkosini Care Givers it's an after-school program and I work closely with them.

Another after-school program that I just learned about this year is one by Thanda in KwaZulu Natal. Thanda runs an after school, Early Childhood Development (ECD) and an organic farming programme. The NIVEA Thanda Centre is the hub of activities where meals are prepared for over 600 children daily, after-school facilitators prepare their lessons.  The Center also hosts the ECD programme for  smaller children below school-going age.

With the help of NIVEA, Thanda has been able to extend their program by opening its doors 365 days a year, providing meals and great facilities for kids to play and do their homework.

For more information on the NIVEA Thanda Centre you can follow this LINK:

GIVEAWAY TIME
NIVEA has been kind enough to giveaway 2 NIVEA Care packs to my dear subbies, all you need to do is leave a comment below telling me what's your take on after school programs or if you are familiar with any programmes in your area.

Giveaway open to SA residents only
Winner will be announced on the 26th of April 2017.

All About The Surf School of Shine

On my social media pages for the past two days I have been posting about #SurfShine and I think that doing a post about it will bring light to this great campaign.

All I can say is this article is for you, if you are looking for a job, want to take your career to the next level, looking to make better financial goals, or you just know someone who needs all of the above.

The Surf School of Shine is all about giving a platform to build your career confidence. The Surf School of Shine is all about providing women with career building skills. Topics such as Being Interview Ready, Planning for Your Career, how to take your career to the next level and once you get that job, tips on how to budget correctly.

I like to share topics that are close to home because just recently got a permanent job as I was temping from one job to the next last year, it was very hard as I had to go to interviews and be shortlisted, and never get called back (the struggle is real and those JOB sites that are not really job sites were you just waste your time trying to apply only to be redirected to a page that is full of ads). What I know for sure is if I had the opportunity to have my CV posted up on a billboard I would have taken it.

Someone said searching for a job is a job itself and they went lying.
I went to the site https://www.surfshine.co.za read through it, took a few tests and created my cv. The part I like the most from the site is the "CV Builder" as you can fill in your details and once done the CV generates into a PDF format that you can attach to trusted job searching sites.
This week two billboards one in Soweto and the other in Tembisa are up, and this is taking job searching to a different level.
I remember two years back hearing on radio or through social media about this guy who had a degree was handing out his cv during heavy traffic one morning, someone got ahold of it and they go their job. I like it when companies are pro-active in helping people get jobs and Surf is doing a great job with this initiative.

So once again, if you have someone in your life or know of someone who would like amp up their job search or take their career to a new level share with them the tips learned from the Surf SCHOOL OF SHINE https://www.surfshine.co.za

I wanted to share this blogpost in hopes that it atleast inspires one person,

See you soon

Top 3 Nailcare Winter Tips

2 months back I did the most horrible thing to my nails, I acryliced them
and my poor nails had to pay the price of being chipped and cracked for the past two months.

Acrylic nails are nice and very pretty but I think that they are not for me, will I do them again…?
Well!!! beauty is pain LOL, but nah I'm cool. I have never done the gel glaze maybe I will try that apparently, it is not that harsh

I would like to share with you 3 Nailcare tips I stick to through winter as natural nails tend to crack and chip at any time, which just sucks.

File when necessary
I find that when I file my nails, they tend to break when they get to certain height which sucks cause I file nails with the intention to make them look all pretty and stuff.

Cuticle Oil it or Vaseline It
Cuticle oil can be expensive (the good ones that is), and an alternative for me on many occasions has been my Vaseline pure jelly.

Cover them
I use taxis on the regular and opening and closing those sometime hard doors can take a toll on our nails. So, wearing gloves on the regular will help protect your nails from that and the harsh air the cold season brings.

Well that's it for my simple nailcare tips:
Do you have nailcare tips you mind sharing with me?
Please let me know because sharing is caring!!!

My Angel Mother | Mothers Day 2017 Quotes

I'm sharing some really funny and inspirational quotes that
keep me going on Mothers Day as it is rather a
hard time for me,

And on that note there won't be any posts on Thursday and Friday I will
see you on Monday with even greater posts:

“All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.”
― Abraham Lincoln

“Our mothers always remain the strangest, craziest people we've ever met.”
― Marguerite Duras

“I know enough to know that no woman should ever marry a man who hated his mother.”
― Martha Gellhorn, Selected Letters

“My mother... she is beautiful, softened at the edges and tempered with a spine of steel. I want to grow old and be like her.”
― Jodi Picoult

“When your mother asks, "Do you want a piece of advice?" it's a mere formality. It doesn't matter if you answer yes or no. You're going to get it anyway.”
― Erma Bombeck

“You count the hours you could have spent with your mother, it's a lifetime in itself.”
― Mitch Albom, For One More Day

“I always wondered why God was supposed to be a father," she whispers. Fathers always want you to measure up to something. Mothers are the ones who love you unconditionally, don't you think?”
― Jodi Picoult

“My mother always said 'Don't bother other people.' I think that's good advice.”
― Amy Sedaris, I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence

“There's nothing like your mother's sympathetic voice to make you want to burst into tears.”
― Sophie Kinsella, Confessions of a Shopaholic

“Clarity and focus doesn’t always come from God or inspirational quotes. Usually, it takes your mother to slap the reality back into you.”
― Shannon L. Alder

Lots of Love

When I reached out to open up this package nothing
but beautiful aromas and all I can say is LUSH welcome to my blog...

Who is LUSH you ask?...
Lush is a beauty company
that operates with a strict policy against animal testing and lead the cosmetics industry
in combating over-packaging by developing products that can be sold ‘naked’ to the consumer.
For more information please go to www.lush.com

Lush opened it’s doors in South Africa in 2012 with it’s first store in the V&A
Waterfront. It’s since grown a National footprint with 8 stores in total across
Cape Town (Canal Walk; Cavendish, V & A Waterfront), Durban (Gateway), Johannesburg (Cresta, Dainfern, The Zone @Rosebank) and Pretoria (Menlyn). It also operates an online
store at www.lush.co.za

#BeCrueltyFree

Lush has re-launched their best-selling New shampoo bar (R115) to encourage consumers to get behind Humane Society International’s global campaign

I will just list all the products pictured above clockwise:
King of Skin (R110)
Yummy Mommy (175)

So far I have been loving the Karma Soap, and can't wait to try the hair shampoo bar
and give my opinion on it on posts to come.

Clere Radience | Meet Your Beautiful High Tea

On a rare occasion I got to dress up, wear full face makeup and attend a high tea,
this High Tea was different because not only were we there to celebrate Clere Radience as a brand
we were there to get some words of wisdom from women that we admire and aspire to become.

Last week I was lucky enough to score myself an invite to
the Clere Radience Meet Your Beautiful High Tea
The event had key note speakers in Career and Education Sithembile Mfeyela who spoke to us with grace and intelligence, for the inner Soul Enrichment Ofentse Lephoko
because lady when times get tough one needs look within and Entrepreneurship and Business Unathi Msengana gave us a lot of insides into working hard and knowing your worth.

I love events that just motivate you and re-ignite your passion for your craft.
As women we have to work extra hard on each and every sphere of our lives and without taking time
to appriciate what we have achieved so far.

Motivated!!! Yes I am.

The High Tea was held in a very beautiful venue Shepstone Gardens in Houghton
(a girl from Soweto with her little blog made it to Houghton, #DivineTimes),
the food was great and new friends I made will forever cherish.

Clere also offered us hand massages and facials but I ended up doing my hands only,
cause I had a whole load of makeup on.

Thank you very much Clere for the invite and the great words of wisdom received.

Forever grateful.

It has been a long week even though Monday was a public holiday, am I the only one who gets messed up by long weekends.

Even though the week was long I managed to do a lot of things (blogwise) upload on YouTube twice, blog daily (Monday - Friday) and attend the Clere Radience HighTea Event
which I nearly missed cause of the constant work schedule changes.

My weekend plans include doing some laundry including blankets as Winter is upon us, spending time with the family and hopefully take some pictures for next weeks posts.

Do you have any plans that you would like to share?

Review | Essence Super Precise Eyeliner

A very late Wednesday Upload but I still wanted to do a quick review on the Essence Super Precise Eyeliner I bought a month back, so let us get into it.

The claim
essence says "precision work. the eyeliner with an extremely fine brush applicator is ideal for tracing accurate lines as well as creating broad eyeliner designs! deep black, long-lasting, waterproof – for wow-eyes!"

The product
Just like all liquid eyelinears out there this eyelinear comes in a black casing easy to open and close. Love that all is written in the front (the brand name, description and claim).
My experience
I was just roaming around Clicks and I was actually looking for the All About Matt! Foundation shade 50 caramel and didn't find any (went to the essence website also seems that the shades 50 and 60 have been discontinued... guess I need to find a new affordable foundation *sad face*)... anywho so I picked out the eyeliner as it caught my eye... longlasting and waterproof hello... price you ask only R59.95.
I like to do a hand test with my eyeliners first I don't know why... so I streak a small amount leave it to dry and any carry on with my daily activities.. stupid I know but my trick works as it tests the longevity of the product you must try it LOL.
At first application I knew that this eyeliner will become an instant hit for me... The applicator does not come out with too much product but I tell you a little goes a long way here.

My thoughts
If you like the Wet n Wild Megaliner then this one is for you as it this also waterproof and way cheaper than the Wet n Wild one...

There you have it my mini review is done.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Around Soweto | Sporo Street CookOut

On Saturday I got to attend an event at number 13330 Brickfield Road Spruitview
which is 35 minutes away from Soweto
courtesy of my blogger friend The Authentic Girl who hooked me up with some tickets.
Since it was my first time at the event  just thought that I should share with you what the event is, what the aim is, some great pictures I took and
my two cent mini review of it in the end.
What is SporoStreet CookOut You Ask?
Sporo’s Street Cookout was born out of Tshepo Monamudi’s vision, who together with partner Xolani Mazibuko realized that townships in general have become more urban in mindset but lack the necessary events, concepts and venues to keep up with this clientele.
The Street Cookout has been happening every last Saturday of the month since February 2016 on Twala Road in Vosloorus with one hosted in Rockville Soweto.

Whats The Aim?
To create business opportunities and income for township culinary entrepreneurs.
To introduce an alternative lifestyle to an otherwise monotonous environment.
To create employment in the community where the Street Cookout is held.
To assist young talented entrepreneurs in building their brands.
To showcase untapped talent
How It Works
Individual stalls are rented out to resellers of not so usual foods (not usual for townships).
Picnic style tables and benches are setup on the street opposite the stalls for all to utilize while enjoying their food and drinks

The market is complimented by background lounge music, to encourage conversations and occasionally hosts live acts/bands .

Up to 30 Stalls which are operated mostly by young local chefs, selling a variety of dishes and beverages to no less than 2000 people per event.

My Experience
The invite stated that the event begins at 10:00 till 20:00 I arrived there at around 1pm and the venue was some what empty but I don't what happened after that cause booom people flooked through, and the venue was packed.

I liked that there were enough chairs and tables for everyone, the music was just load enough for me to hear it and carry out a conversation.

The food stalls were packed and the food tasted divine (pictures don't lie), the smoothies were just awesome, the craft beer ooh mannn, and the wine... what more can I say.

Guys when I talk about food my mind goes on a frenzy....

I had fun and I'm sold, can't wait for the next one.

xx

Workers Day 2017

Guys it is the year 2017 and you need to know your workers rights.
The Department of Labour has everything you need to know regarding your working rights.

It's pretty simple and easy to read, while you are in a taxi or looking for some night time reading this month just read through it, I urge you fellow South African knowledge is power.

I know things can be pretty hard at work, but knowing what your rights are in difficult situations is far better than staying in the dark and keeping quite.
