One Year | Natural Hair Update

Soweto, South Africa
Hey guys, hope all is well okay I'm sharing with you my one year natural update.
This post is bitter sweet cause my hair should be much longer but I decided to be adventurous in June and go blonde and now I'm paying the price, totally bored.
Since then I have been working on my brittle hair and been trying to make sure that I stick to a once a week routine of washing and styling it #bennyandbetty as I wear wigs on the daily.
 WASH, CONDITION & TREAT

I have been sticking with Pure Royal with the is one as they contain no sulftes, parabens, silcones and no salt (yes salts are very drying to the hair).

I did the whole routine on my YouTube channel showing you all products used and all the step by step instructions, which are pretty simple and once your try my methods,
you will notice the difference.
TREAT, MOISTURISE & SHINE

I plate my hair I then go in with my hair food from LongandLasting followed by the hair spray, I like  the two products together because they are not too oily as I use a wig on the daily and I don't want much product to over lap in it.

My natural hair routine is pretty simple and basic, and that is how
I like to keep it hence why the big chop right.

Hope you enjoyed it.

REVIEW | WIG WASH DAY ROUTINE USING TRESemmé KERATIN SMOOTH

Soweto, South Africa
Hey guys hope all is great and okay and your Christmas plans are coming along really well.

Other than spending money on a new wig this season how about washing and conditioning the one's that we already have and the best product that works for me is the
TRESemmé KERATIN SMOOTH Range.

I have shared a YouTube Post showing you step by step visuals on how I keep my R1200 Human Hair wig from StyleDiva still looking great 14 months later.

The claim:
The tag line that TRESemmé use for their Keratin Smooth range is: "Fed up with frizz? Our redesigned formula, with luxurious Marula Oil, delivers not 1, but 5 smoothing benefits that give you silky, frizz-controlled hair for up to 72 hours*.
*TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner system vs. non-conditioning.

The product:
The TRESemmé Keratin Smooth is all red and white, and if you know about all the available TRESemmé ranges then you would now that this is one of their most distinct ranges interms of colour as you can easily find it on the shelves which makes the packaging really great for me.

The shampoo and conditioner also comes in a generous 750ml pack which you can get minimum 2 months worth of use when you wash your wigs on the weekly basis.
The new baby in the family which is the Shine Oil comes in a 50 ml bottle that is transparent and allows for you to see the oil,
which I'm not complaining cause a little goes a long way here.
My experience:
Firstly the shampoo and conditioners are really thick and not watery
which means that a little goes a long way and all one needs to do is dampen their hair a bit and use a little product, which I had to learn the hard way cause the products I used in the past on my wigs would be watery and require alot of shampoo and conditioner for the previous product to go out.

Another product which is similar to the conditioner but not really is the Deep Smoothing Mask
which I think is the need to have product when you want to make sure that
your weave actually is frizz free and
easy to style once air dried.

My Verdict:
All I can say is if you have a wig/weave and you need this range because it will
ensure that the wig is kept well conditioned and frizz free, plus if you can spend R1500 upwards spending +/- R250 on products to maintain the hair shouldn't be that bad.
Hope you enjoyed my review and demo video.

GUESS WHAT | I'm Going To Be A Mommy

Soweto, South Africa
Hey guys, I'm going to make this one really short, I really didn't want to share this but however I have shared so much already about my life, weight-loss struggles and all that not sharing
these news would really be unfair.

I'm really excited and nervous at the time as I don't know what to expect, but my sisters are both here to share the journey with me and prepare me for this new journey that I will be entering into soon.

As for how many months I'm at apparently I'm not allowed to share that and the due date aswell (African things), however I will say keep watching the vlogs and all as
I will be sharing my journey there.

Wish me luck guys.

Hello December 2017

Soweto, South Africa
Happy December, gosh I love this season not only is it a time to spend with family and friends but a time to reflect on all things good and bad that we went experienced throughout the year.

If you have been following the blog then you will know how much I love this season, cause maybe my family brought me up in a way that made me enjoy Christmas and New Years so much that their
tradition grew on me.

For me although Christmas and New Years are all commercialized now, the true essence of it all still remains and that is just to be happy and spend time with the family.

The plan for this Christmas is just to spendtime with the family and have fun and you know how we people of Soweto have fun right. I might not be going out that much drinking alcoholic beverages because I'm carrying my bundle of joy however I will be overdosing on food.

So please come share your Christmas and New Years with us,
I would love to see what you get up to.

Lots of love

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Review

Happy Monday, this week will be pretty busy on the blog as we are preparing for #Vlogmas and #Blogmas so we are just finalizing all the posts that need to go out. The first review that we
want up is the *Neutrogena  Hydro Boost Water Gel that has been on trail by me Intokazy,
so here the review goes,

The Claim:
Here is what Neutrogena claims about the product: Introducing Hydro Boost Water Gel, a unique moisturiser with a light texture and the long lasting, intense nourishing power of  a cream , that absorbs instantly and keeps skin hydrated all day.

The Product:
I must say that the product is in a very attractive light blue and silver packaging. Opening the box the container has a white lid and glossy blue container. After opening the lid you can't help but to love the smell of the hydro gel, that also comes in a light blue form.

My Experience:
The Neutrogena Hydro Boost has a jell like consistency. When I first applied it I knew it would hydrate my face. The gel is fast to absorb and it keeps my skin smooth after application and  hydrated for the whole day.

My Verdict:
I find the product convenient for everyday use. Fast to use also a good primer when using make-up. The only thing that is missing is SPF for our South African climate.

My routine is pretty simple: Firstly washed my face with luke-warm water using “Johnson's Face Care’’ oil control facial wash. After my skin was dry, I applied the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel. Continued with the same application method for two times a day for seven days.

Retails : R99 on the site Take-A-Alot

Thank you so much for reading my review, hope to see you soon.

Covering TRESemmé , Zando & Wellness Warehouse Events

On My Nails KANGOL /// shade BitterSweet (Picture Taken at TRESemme event last week.
 Happy Monday we made it.

Things have been really crazy on the blog and our daily lives from imishado (weddings) to imincwabo (funerals), product launches and other things that validate that we
are still human and alive.
The weekend was great I did tell that Paxton was gonna win Idols SA right,
but this post is really not about what happened this weekend but what we got up to last week.

TRESemmé #InspiredByNYFW

Last Tuesday night TRESemmé hosted the Inspired By New York Fashion Week (NYFW)
Hair Collection, hosted by Lalla Hirayama, the event showcased the latest hair trends straight off the NYFW runway. The hair styles were created by Ceecee Mabaso, a local stylist that TRESemmé partnered with and sent to work backstage at NYFW, alongside global TRESemmé hairstylist and stylist to the stars.

Last night, Ceecee re-created the top hair trends that came out of New York Fashion Week, including Effortlessly Cool, On the Wild Side and Tousled Texture from the Carolina Herrera, Rebecca Minkoff, and Jonathan Simkai shows, among others. These looks were complimented by garments from local fashion designers Kisua, Mantsho and design duo Carina Louw and Natasha Jaume.

On the blog very soon, we will be recreating some of the hairstyles that were on show, so keep your eye on the look out.

Thank you kindly for the great event TRESemmé
our experience of being backstage and then sitting front row to experience
the fashion and hair show will never be the same again.
...
Zando.com & Wellness Warehouse #WellnessWithZando
Then Thursday morning we got up really early in the morning to attend a Wellness Day hosted by Zando and Wellness Warehouse
Shuuu, we tried Yoga for the first and it was rather interesting and all I can say is my body is still hurting (but in a good way), however we enjoyed the experience and will be trying it again.

Firstly welcome Zando and the Wellness Warehouse to the blog, they will not be strangers.

And thank you kindly for the invite, our idea of Yoga will never be the same again.

And thank you so much for making it this far.

Let us make this week great.

AFRIDERM PEELING GEL & EYE CREAM REVIEW

Hey guys, this review has been a long time coming...and if I don't do it I won't be able to brag about the products in posts to come. Today I'm welcoming a brand that I'm familiar with as they are one of the few brands that are out there that have ventured into the Soweto market. The brand is called AFRIDERM and the very first product that I bought from them was their handlotion cause you know how much I love hand lotions. Okay okay let's get straight to the review.

The claim:
*Peeling Gel: Removes old skin cells, nourishes the layers beneath, and encourages skin regeneration. The gentle action clears away dry, rough patches and dark skin left by blemishes, for a smoother, even-toned face.
*Eye Cream: Complete refreshment for fatigued eyes, soothing tired skin while improving firmness contains Aleo, Shea Butter and Green Tea.

The product:
It comes in clean white container and the tops are a dark toned chrome goldish
(hope you get my explanation here - but pictures don't lie (see image below)).

My Experience.
When I first saw AFRIDERM at Edgars Jabulani Mall in Soweto I first gravitated towards the packages and got intrigued because it claimed to be For ALL Dark Skin Tones and I was happy because not a lot of products are made for exclusively us sisters of a darker skin tone. Secondly the packaging is gorgeous and thirdly a product that claims to target the issues that I mainly deal with which is tired dull skin, so I would say AFRIDERM got me at hello.

Trying on the peeling gel for the first time for me was a bit extra because I had an expectation that once it dries up it will actually start peeling, which it does but a small amount... Then my sister (Cindy) had to remind me that is a peeling cleansing gel and not a mask so it won't peel of that much. The peeling gel does what it claims to do and I like that it does not leave my skin feeling dry.

The eye cream for me didn't work cause even though it is made for people with sensetive eyes like mine, I'm sure the fragrance decided to take center stage because it does smell a little scented.

My Verdict:
Overall I'm happy with the peeling gel because although it peels it does not leave my skin feeling dry, and I would pass the eye cream. I have my eye out for their serum though on my next shopping trip.

Hope you enjoyed my review.

African Extracts ADVANTAGE RANGE Daily Repair Facial Oil Review

Hey darlings, earlier last month we got invited to the beautiful chilled Tashas in Mandela Square for breakfast by African Extracts. Today we are going to review a gorgeous product by African Extracts from their ADVANTAGE RANGE called *Daily Repair Facial Oil

The claim:
This non-greasy treatment oil helps to reduce the appearance of dark marks and spots and protects skin from environmental damage. With the antioxidant power of Bio-Active Rooibos, vitamins and essential oils of geranium, German chamomile, rose, lavender and neem seed, this advanced, 100% natural derived lightweight oil helps reduce the signs of damage caused by environmental and lifestyle stress. Ideal skin that needs daily renewal and a brighter, more even skin tone.
The product:
It comes in a luxurious red box with gold trimmings. When you open the box, it comes in a gold cap, transparent bottle that enable you to see the contents inside. We like the packaging because if you didn't know that African Extract was a drugstore brand this product/advantage range could easily get mistaken as a high-end brand

Our experience:
The product has a dispenser dropper, that allows you to control the application easily because 2 to 3 drops you are okay, a little goes a long way here guys. Just because it is a facial oil it does not mean it will clog your pores, it just left our skin feeling hydrated and moisturized.
We also like that the oil absorbs faster which we thought it wouldn't.

Another favourite has to be the SPF 15 enriched Hand and Nail cream which we got at the event also.

Our Verdict:
It is a great product because its affordable retails for R169.99 and with continuous use we saw our skin having more moisture in a good way. The only bad thing about it is that you have to handle it with care because one slight mistake it falls and you will find all your product on the floor...trust us we learnt the hard way.

Manicure Monday | Weekend Catch-Up

On my nails Revlon Colorstay TopCoat ///Essence shade Hope For Love //// Avon shade White Gold

Hello Bazala, sharing my nails as #NOTD #NOTW because Intokazy has really short nails this week and Zanele's nails are in another state right now, so I'm saving Manicure Monday for you. This post will be just me sharing my thoughts.

I have noticed that each and every season has that one colour that just stands out. I think that dusty pink is just everywhere, and I'm really loving it because it is just one of my favourite colours.

Another thing that seems to be on trend this year is clothing with roses...everyone calls it "FIVE ROSES", and I've seen some very strange combinations but I will say the jeans looks wayyyy better than t-shirts soo far.

I watched Idols this weekend I vote for Paxton she is young and vibrant, I like that.... I can't believe she is the first one to get a golden ticket in Cape Town and has made it to the finals this girl has it. #TeamPaxton

Two words Destruction Boys, I first heard of them when I went to the KZN earlier this year and these boys are just all over now.... I can't complain cause I'm a fan also.

Well that is it for my first Manicure Monday post.

Event | SURVIVOR Wine Tasting in Soweto

Sanibonani bo #SebenzaGirl this is Ntokazy and Cindy bringing to you our first ever post for the blog and it is an event not just any event but a wine event held at the gorgeous Just Badela Resturant in the famous neighbourhood Orlando West in our beautiful home town of Soweto.

We are just glad that our first event for the blog was in Soweto
and now we can venture South Africa.

THE STORY BEHIND THE WINE
One fine day, as a truck laden with cattle rattled past D.B. Rust's farm, one of the passengers decided The Cow Stops Here. She jumped. Not only did she survive, but she has thrived, and even produced several offspring. Because she embodies the forthright sprit of the Swartland, this creamy, barrel fermenetd wine with the lingering tropical fruit notes and vibrant minerality, pays tribute to our noble *Nguni cow, Survivor.

*Nguni cattle are the traditional livestock of the Zulu people of South Africa

Okay okay the story behind the wine is really interesting and makes one think...mmmh

So back to the event, on Wednesday night we spent the evening tasting wine to officially introduce Survivor Wines to the Soweto market and we had fun.

We tasted a variety of wines and you can also see what we had to taste

Our favorite has to be SURVIVOR CHARDONNAY which is also sold out on their site.

Overall we are glad that companies are taking chances and finally
seeing that Soweto has so much to offer.

Thank you soo much Survivor Wines for the invite, you will be on our shopping lists.

Review | Yardley Stayfast Liquid Matte Metallic Lip Vinyl

Yardley Stayfast Liquid Matte Metallic Lip Vinyl
(Top to Bottom - Coppering, Chrome Pink, Queen B, Reign)
Hey guys, hope that you are having a great Thursday and the taxi strike didn't affect you as much as it did me (atleast I got a chance to blog). So here is the thing this post was supposed to go live last week the same time I shared my first impressions of the new Yardley Stayfast Matte Metallic Lippies on YouTube but rather late than never.

I received the lippies a few weeks back and just wanted to do something different with them hence the YouTube video first then blog review after:

Lets jump straight into the review:

P.S. the review will be focusing on the 4 new metallic shades (pictured above).
Yardley Stayfast Liquid Matte Metallic Lip Vinyl
(Top to bottom Miss Mauve, Rambling Rose, Killer Pink,
Electric Tangerine, Engine Red, Femme Fatale)
The claim:
Yardley Stayfast Liquid Matte Lip Vinyl in 4 NEW lustrous metallic shades. All the benefits of our coveted Stayfast Liquid Matte Lip Vinyl – high impact colour, 24 hour wear and an ultra-matte finish; now comes with a glittery, jewel like finish. Merging the staying power of a matte lipstick with the high wattage shine of a metallic!

Available in 4 shades: Reign, Queen B, Coppering and Chrome Pink

The product:
The lippies come in the same pack as the already existing matte shades, if it wasn't for the sticker on top it would be a bit difficult to tell the metallic  to the mattes... However the metallic shades are pretty visible also because the bottle is transparent and all you see are shimmers withing the lip product... so I ain't complaining that much.

My experience.
I was very skeptical with this matte mettalic trend I don't want to lie. Fistly I thought too much shimmer, the glitter within the lipsticks will be messy and just cause a disco around your mouth area... but Nope I was proven wrong which I like as the shimmers/metallic parts are saved by the matte part of the lippie (hope I make sense here)
Another thing is I thought that when I do apply them on the lips they would feel  heavy and won't dry out... I was proven wrong also here, the metallic lippies are one application you are happy, quick to dry and don't feel heavy on the lips.

My Verdict:
Everyone is releasing metallic shades these days and I must say Yardley did a great on this one. The Yardley Stayfast Liquid Matte Metallic Lip Vinyl are super affordable, lite on the lips and super quick to dry-out.
I would suggest you get all the colours but if I had to choose I would get Coppering and Reign

Yardley site : HERE

P.S. Clicks has them on sales for R95.95 : SHOP HERE

You can also watch my lip swatching video over HERE
Hope you enjoyed my review.

The Best & Worst Part Of Blogging

Soweto, South Africa
Wet n Wild /// shade Left Marooned
Hey guys it's Tuesday and I'm back with another post, I was reading on some blogging tips this past weekend especially the good and worst things about blogging. This made me think of my journey and why I began blogging and just thought that I should share with you some of my experiences.

The Worst:
If you are not sharing your life then why are you blogging?
There was a time for me when I could find an escape on my blog and just ramble on about things that don't make sense. These days it seems like it is a pre-requisite to share something personal about your life when blogging or vlogging so my tip here is just share content you are comfortable with as it might come back to bite you.

The Best:
Why did you begin blogging?
Did you begin to blog just to get free products or are you trying to share issues maybe around your community or just issues that you are dealing with on the daily that might be a help to someone else.
With a thousands of blogs and bloggers In Out & Around South Africa you need to have that something special that you bring on the table cause surely we are all talking lifestyle, beauty and everything else that is trending.

I surely enjoy blogging, which seems to be currently over taken by YouTubing but hey I ain't complaining, cause if you can't beat them join them right?

Happy Tuesday

xx
